Raisins are made by drying grapes. Raisins make a great snack by themselves, but they also are used in many other things such as cookies, cereals, and ice cream. They are very sweet because when the water evaporates out of the grapes when the grapes are drying, the sugars remain.

A dried white grape is known as a sultana and a dried Black Corinth grape is called a currant.
